Sapta means seven and varga refers to the divisional charts. In the sapta-varga scheme the seven D-charts are Rāśi (D1), Horā (D2), Drekkāṇa (D3), Saptāṁśa (D7), Navāṁśa (D9), Dvādaśāṁśa (D12) and Triṁśāṁśa (D30).

Translation: Drekkāṇa bala is based on the placement of planets in the initial (ādya), middle (madhya) or last (avasāna).
पुं (puṁ) Male planets in the initial (0°-10°) drekkāṇa
नपुंसक (napuṁsaka) Eunuch planets in the middle (10°-20°) and
योषणा (yoṣaṇā) Female planets in the last drekkāṇa (20°-30°)
